MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) – After months of dropping, gas prices have shot up in the last few weeks.

In Florida, the average price for a gallon of unleaded is $3.77, up from $3.42 a month ago, according to the American Automobile Association. Diesel increased over the last month at $4.15 a gallon.

In Miami-Dade and Ft. Lauderdale, drivers are paying more than the state average. Regular unleaded is running $3.87 a gallon in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. A month ago, drivers were paying $3.48 a gallon in Ft. Lauderdale and $3.48 in Miami.

Pensacola, where unleaded regular is averaging $3.67 a gallon, is the cheapest places in the state to fill up.

West Palm Beach is the most expensive place to top off the tank; regular unleaded is averaging $3.88 a gallon.

  1. prices here in Central Texas have gone from 3.25 per gallon last week to 3.45 per gallon this week and Austin is looking at prices of 3.73 per gallon..

    • Here in California the prices are at least $4.25, for Regular, serf serve, cash, like Thrifty and ARCO, but the rest of them are at least $0.5-0.75 more. Unocal, Shell sell Super for $4.85. Now that’s what I call economic stimulus (in reverse!)
