My take on this:  History proves to us that the last thing “man” can do is control anything he happened to figure out, and then applied that knowledge, without any wisdom and regard for its own best judgement: Are things going to change? One can only hope: But what do you do in a place where hope was obliterated, and the only thing left is …Patience?

Katharine Hepburn (1907)

Hepburn made her Broadway debut in 1928 and became a star with her first film, A Bill of Divorcement, in 1932. She brought a spirited individuality and strength of character to the screen in her roles in films such as Bringing Up Baby, The Philadelphia Story, and The African Queen. She made eight films with her longtime partner Spencer Tracy, eventually starring in 43 films. No actress has ever won more Academy Awards than Hepburn. How many did she win? More… Discuss

The Antikythera Mechanism

The Antikythera mechanism is an ancient mechanical computer designed to calculate astronomical positions. It was recovered in the early 20th century from a wreck near the Greek island of Antikythera, but its significance was not recognized until decades later. It is thought to have been built in the 2nd century BCE. Technological artifacts of similar complexity did not reappear until more than a thousand years later.
