So, here we go again, reading about a electric power failure, at a nuclear electric power plant. Among the comments I particularly was happy to read that at least one commentator had his scientific head on his shoulders, now, as 40 years ago when he made it clear that the plant was unsafe, and should not be given the license to operate. The question how safe is safe: the answer is Zero, now and always. There are things that we, humans cannot control: Nuclear energy is one of those Things. Those who are giving it up are on the right pass to the future.

Visit the website and watch the video, find out more about this event at http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/markkermode/. Read more about the BBC, and their programs and programming.  I enjoy listening to the classical music they broadcast on Classical Music 3, and many of their shows.

This is a great tribute to the music composed by John Barry, one of  the paramount musicians of our time. Please read more about the life and music of  John Barry (1933-2011) at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Barry_(composer), as many of his compositions have become intrinsic part of out human experience in artistic accomplishment.

This is a perfect opportunity to join the broadcasting of the concert dedicated to life and music of John Barry.
I enjoy all his compositions, but one that come in mind each time on his tune play in my mind is the themes from ‘Somewhere In Time’, my “Immortal Beloved” of the art of cinematography and a must read novel, for the human attempt to gain access to knowledge beyond the realm of the tangible.

Les Paul (1915)

Paul began playing country music at 14, later switched to jazz, and started his own trio in 1936. Considered one of the finest jazz guitarists, he was famous for his amazing versatility. Dissatisfied with the sound of available instruments, Paul invented a solid-body electric guitar in 1941 that was marketed by Gibson and became extremely important in the development of rock music. Several versions of his prized guitars are still manufactured. What else did he invent? More… Discuss
