There is no prospect of Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, being extradited to Turkey to face criminal charges over her undercover investigation into Turkish orphanages, a British interior ministry source has said.

Turkey sought her extradition after a court in the country accused her of “breaking the law in acquiring footage and violating the privacy of five children” while making the documentary in 2008.

Followed by hidden cameras, Ferguson posed as a potential charitable donor during the filming, a decision she said was difficult.

“I did feel a little uncomfortable when I went in with my wig on because I’m not that kind of person.

“However, I knew that they wouldn’t let me in if I, to see these atrocities if I just went as me and it is very important that I do, for the rights of these children, cry about it, because somebody’s got to,” she said.

The charges carry a maximum jail term of 22 years six months, although the ministry source said there was “no question” of the Duchess being extradited to Turkey as she has not broken British law.

An artist to boot, he created many of the illustrations and covers for his books. His reputation as a social historian, radical critic of American life, and major novelist of the postwar “Lost Generation” rests primarily on his powerful U.S.A. trilogy, which includes what three novels? More… Discuss
