Shivaree – Goodnight Moon –

Goodnight Moon lyrics

And don’t go to bed yet, love,
I think it’s early,
And we just need a little time to ourselves.

If my wall clock tells me that it’s four
In the morning,
I’ll give it hell.

‘Cause I’ve been trying way too long,
To try to be the perfect song,
When our hearts are heavy burdens,
We shouldn’t have to bear alone.

So goodnight moon,
And goodnight you,
When you’re all that I think about.
All that I dream about.
How’d I ever breathe without…

A goodnight kiss
From goodnight you,
The kind of hope they all talk about.
The kind of feeling we sing about.
Sit in our bedroom and read aloud,
Like a passage from goodnight moon…

And sing for me softly, love,
Your song for tomorrow
And tell me my name’s the one sitting in there somewhere

And dream for me anything, but dream
It in color about
When all the sun’s still rising and we don’t care

And I’ve been trying way too long,
To try and be the perfect song,
When our hearts are heavy burdens,
We shouldn’t have to bear alone.

So goodnight you,
And goodnight moon,
When you’re all that I think about.
All that I dream about.
How’d I ever breathe without…

A goodnight kiss
From goodnight you,
The kind of hope they all talk about.
The kind of feeling we sing about.
Sit in our bedrooms and read aloud,
Like a passage from goodnight moon…

Then here you were,
And I saw my Juliet come graceful down the stairs.
It’s hard to miss,
The way her eyes light up the room,
And still the air.

Just feel her lips,
Lock on to every breath I take;
Can’t breath it in.

Do you feel us falling?

‘Cause I feel us falling…

So goodnight moon,
And goodnight you,
And you’re all that I think about.
All that I dream about.
How’d I ever breathe without…

A goodnight kiss
From goodnight you,
The kind of hope they all talk about.
The kind of feeling we sing about.
Sit in our bedrooms and read aloud,
Like a passage from goodnight moon…

Oh, from goodnight moon….

Then here you were,
And I saw my Juliet come graceful down the stairs.
It’s hard to miss,
The way her eyes light up the room,
And still the air.

Do you feel us falling?
‘Cause I feel us falling…

Do you feel us falling?
‘Cause I feel us falling…

Do you feel us falling?
‘Cause I feel us falling…

Do you feel us falling?
‘Cause I feel us falling…
Do you feel us falling?
‘Cause I feel us falling…

Do you feel us falling?
‘Cause I feel us falling…

Do you feel us falling?
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh…

A Horse With No Name

On the first part of the journey,
I was looking at all the life.
There were plants and birds. and rocks and things,
There was sand and hills and rings.
The first thing I met, was a fly with a buzz,
And the sky, with no clouds.
The heat was hot, and the ground was dry,
But the air was full of sound.

I’ve been through the desert on a horse with no name,
It felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert you can remember your name,
‘Cause there ain’t no one for to give you no pain.
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la

After two days, in the desert sun,
My skin began to turn red.
After three days, in the desert fun,
I was looking at a river bed.
And the story it told, of a river that flowed,
Made me sad to think it was dead.

You see I’ve been through the desert on a horse with no name,
It felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert you can remember your name,
‘Cause there ain’t no one for to give you no pain.
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la

After nine days, I let the horse run free,
‘Cause the desert had turned to sea.
There were plants and birds, and rocks and things,
There was sand and hills and rings.
The ocean is a desert, with it’s life underground,
And a perfect disguise above.
Under the cities lies, a heart made of ground,
But the humans will give no love.

La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la

Shivaree – The Snake

On the way to work one morning
Down the path along side the lake
A tender hearted woman
Found a poor half-frozen snake

His pretty colored skin
Had been all frosted with the dew
“Poor thing” she cried, “I’ll take you in
Aand I’ll take care of you.”

Take me in tender woman
Take me in for heaven’s sake
Take me in tender woman
Sighed the Snake

She wrapped him up all cozy
In a comforter of silk
And laid him by the fireside
With some honey and some milk

She hurried home from work that night
And as soon as she arrived
She found that pretty snake she’d taken in had been revived.

Take me in tender woman
Take me in for heaven’s sake
Take me in tender woman
Sighed the Snake

She clutched him to her bosom
“You’re so beautiful” she cried
“But if I hadn’t brought you in by now you might have died.”

Well she stroked his pretty skin again
And kissed him really tight,
Instead of saying thanks,
the snake gave her a vicious bite.

Take me in tender woman
Take me in for heaven’s sake
Take me in tender woman
Sighed the Snake

“I saved you!” cried the woman
“And you’ve bitten me but why?”
“You know your bite is poisonous
And now I’m gonna die.”

“Ha shut up, silly woman.”
Said that reptile with a grin.
“You knew darn well I was a snake before you took me in.”

Take me in tender woman
Take me in for heaven’s sake
Take me in tender woman
Sighed the Snake

Take me in tender woman
Sighed the Snake
Take me in tender woman
Sighed the Snake.

Customs Officials Find Primate in Smuggler’s Underwear

Three men from the United Arab Emirates were arrested Sunday in Delhi, India, when customs officials made an unusual discovery during a routine security check. One of the three men, who were traveling together, had hidden a slender loris in his underwear. Officials later found a second loris in a trash can elsewhere in the airport. The tiny primate, which is native to India and Sri Lanka, has become a popular exotic pet in some parts of the world, despite concerns that it is diminishing in the wild. More… Discuss

Heliamphora

Heliamphora

Heliamphora is a genus of carnivorous pitcher plants native to South America. The plants lure insects into their deadly pitchers with their vivid pigmentation, sweet scent, and a spoon-like appendage suspended above the tube that secretes nectar. Inside the pitcher, downward-facing hairs force insects deeper inward, until they are drowned in fluid collected at its bottom and then digested by symbiotic bacteria. How do these plants keep from filling completely with water when it rains? More… Discuss

Santa Ana River Rest Bench

Santa Ana River Rest Bench

Essential 1 (a poetic thought, by George-b)

My being was hungry today:
My eyes avidly took in every sight
My ears listened, and listened  to large itunes playlist
“What’s up?”, “Firewood”, hundred other songs
My nose grasped every scent – the freshly cut grass,
The dogs beach, the beer smelling sun block lotion
My skin froze and then it thaw, and then it dried again

Inside my head, I feel the making of today’s memories

A squirrel held me by my hand,
took the almond offered,
with delicate grace, almost human…

Yes I made it all about myself today….

Tomorrow,  will tomorrow remember me?
