EVIDENCE OF NEW LIFE FORMS UNDER ANTARCTIC ICE

Evidence of New Life Forms under Antarctic Ice

Just over a year ago, a Russian team announced that it had successfully drilled through over two miles of ice and reached the surface of Lake Vostok, an Antarctic subglacial lake that had been untouched by humans for at least 14 million years. Scientists have yet to analyze any pure, uncontaminated water samples, but tests of the lake water that froze onto the end of the drill bit detected the presence of unidentified bacterial DNA, indicating that the lake may well harbor previously unknown bacterial life forms. More… Discuss

    Good article.
I read something similar last week.
This lake of water under the ice, God only know what could be in it. It is a vast area. I know it has been closed of to Earth for a long time. But Life finds a way, I wonder if it really did.

I just hope the don’t unearth something bad, a bad bacteria that will do us harm. I hope they are being careful with all they find.

    Thanks for sharing
