George Gershwin – Rhapsody in Blue


Rhapsody in Blue is a musical composition by George Gershwin for solo piano and jazz band written in 1924, which combines elements of classical music with jazz-influenced effects. 

Commissioned by bandleader Paul Whiteman, the piece received its premiere in a concert entitled An Experiment in Modern Music, which was held on February 12, 1924, in Aeolian Hall, New York, by Whiteman and his band with Gershwin playing the piano.

    • si eu: prima oara am ascultat Rhapsody in Bleu in interpretarea lui Dinu Lipatti. Ce compositie extraordinara, Cocertul pentru pian este foate frumos, si cam tot ce-a compus..Se poate ascuta fara a avea dureri de cap! 🙂

    • Things seem to have an harmonious conjuncture, as if everything happen with by design. It happens to me too many times. It just happen yesterday, when I was reading about something, that attracted my attention, only to find something related, later on, in an independent manner!
