Anthony and Cleopatra, poetic thought by George-B

Anthony and Cleopatra, poetic thought by George-B

What’s a dream if not a imagined reality,
real to imagination, real to the what if, what of,

What‘s a dream   if not….an unforgiving reality,
living in the realm of the what if, what of,

What ‘s a dream if not an unfulfilled desire bursting
with desire, to quench the desire to end who of, what if, what of if wha

In my dream you still are my queen,
You still dance the night away with the knight…
In my dream you still love the shadow laid on the sheepskins
by the neon of the stars,
As long as the nine o’clock spears,

the spears and the drums of the savanna,
the spears and the drums of the glass blowers of curare poisoned arrows,
you still rule the right of the Cobra Nymphatica Galatea-

-lover of breast fresh milked essence of life:

Snake to milk , mink to snake what the deal here?

National Geographic : CIA Secret Experiments . . : : Documentary : : . .

It’s the height of the Cold War and the United States government is desperate to combat the spread of Communism. The CIA launches a highly classified, top secret research program into the covert use of biological and chemical agents. In simulated attacks on enemy populations, entire cities in America are contaminated with bacteria, exposing millions of Americans to germ warfare. But the real focus of the research is on mastering the art of mind control. Psychiatrists at top academic institutions work under secret contract with the agency. Psychiatric patients, prisoners, even unwitting members of the public are exposed to a startling array of experiments designed to facilitate interrogations, induce amnesia and program in new behavior. Every psychological technique is explored, including hypnosis, electroshock therapy and lethal cocktails of drugs. What was the extent of these brainwashing experiments? How did the CIA become involved in such far-reaching and disturbing research? Join us as National Geographic presents: CIA Secret Experiments.

Today’s Birthday: SUSIE BAKER KING TAYLOR (1848)

Susie Baker King Taylor (1848)

Born into slavery, Taylor was secretly—and illegally—educated during her childhood. As a young woman, she served as a Union army nurse during the American Civil War. She became the first African American to openly teach former slaves in Georgia and the first African-American woman to publish a memoir of her wartime experiences, Reminiscences of My Life in Camp with the 33d United States Colored Troops, Late 1st S.C. Volunteers. How did she end up with Union troops in the first place? More… Discuss

This Day in the Yesteryear: US DROPS ATOMIC BOMB ON HIROSHIMA (1945)

US Drops Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima (1945)

After Germany surrendered in May 1945, the Allied forces focused on ending the war in the Pacific. Japan refused to surrender, dismissing the Allies’ vows to devastate the country. The atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima was the first ever dropped on a populated area. At least 130,000 people were killed, injured, or declared missing, and 90 percent of the city was leveled by the blast. Another atomic bomb was dropped on the city of Nagasaki three days later. When did Japan surrender? More… Discuss

MOO-VE OVER COWS, THERE’S A NEW BURGER IN TOWN

Moo-ve Over Cows, There’s a New Burger in Town

The reviews are in, and it seems the world’s first almost-cowless beef burger leaves a lot to be desired. On Monday, two food writers had the unique opportunity to taste the first hamburger ever made from lab-grown meat. Their reviews were less than stellar. One described the patty as having an “animal protein cake” quality, and even the scientist behind the project acknowledged that the meat’s flavor needs improvement. Still, for something grown in a laboratory from cattle stem cells, it was not a bad first attempt. More…Discuss

MARGERY KEMPE: MOTHER, MYSTIC, MADWOMAN

Margery Kempe: Mother, Mystic, Madwoman

Dating to the 15th century and discovered in its entirety in 1934, The Book of Margery Kempe is perhaps the first autobiography in the English language. Dictated to a scribe by the apparently illiterate Kempe, it chronicles her travels as a religious pilgrim and provides an in-depth account of a middle-class woman’s experience in the Middle Ages. The mother of 14 claims that after the birth of her first child, she fell into a bout of madness and had a vision that called on her to do what? More… Discuss
