Town Meeting Day

An official state holiday in Vermont, this is the day on which nearly every town elects its officers, approvesbudgets, and deals with other civic issues in a daylong public meeting of the voters. It more or less coincides with the anniversary of Vermont’s admission to the Union on March 4, 1791.
