Roscoe Conkling “Fatty” Arbuckle was a portly American silent film comedian. Despite his size, Arbuckle was physically adept and surprisingly agile. His comedies are known for their rollicking, fast-paced nature, and he was particularly fond of the now-famous “pie in the face” gag. Arbuckle had a lasting impact on the silent film genre and mentored stars Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton.
