Two recent studies furnish further evidence that low-to-moderate alcohol consumption may be good for the heart whereas heavy drinking almost certainly is not. In one study, low levels of alcohol use were associated with a moderate reduction in heart attack risk, and in the other, moderate consumption was associated with a reduced risk of abdominal aortic aneurysm.
