In umbra soarelui de-amiaza, cugetare poetica de Geoerge-B,  ©Always

Printer foile uitate zilelor ingalbenite
Pierdut-a-fost lumina zilei…
regasita in penumbra,
inditecta raza de crepuscul ne-intamplat,
ceasului fara de limba pe-orologiul de timp…uitat.

Printer clipele uitate, fara memorie orologiului crepuscular
doar prezentului far’de prihana, nememorizat, necatalogat –
Precum cantecul launtric, ce nu s-a asternut in note
pe firele firave de portativului, precum stergare la uscat…

Intre penele pasarii de foc   care-a cazut ca un meteorit,
orientat spre-a sa pricina; Am ars cenusa ce-a ramas,
in afara cercului nepunctat al uitarii…

in umbra soarelui de-amiaza santem cu toti insetati de a afla mai mult.

today’s holiday: Meyboom

One of the oldest folk traditions in Belgium, Meyboom is an amalgamation of Belgian folklore, patron-saint celebration, and traditional neighborhood rivalry. The event is marked with a procession of giant puppets and the planting of a meyboom (may tree) on the corner of Rue des Sables and Rue du Marais in Brussels. Before the planting, a procession of trumpeters and costumed giants accompanies the tree from the Place des Sablons to its final destination. According to custom, if the meyboom is not planted by 5:00 p.m., the city’s good fortune will go to the people of Leuven. More… Discuss

Richard Nixon Resigns as US President (1974)

In June 1972, five burglars were arrested after breaking into the Democratic Party’s national headquarters at the Watergate Hotel complex in Washington, DC. The motive for the break-in remains unknown. Richard Nixon and his aides denied involvement in the scandal, but their cover-up unraveled, and Nixon resigned in order to avoid facing impeachment. His successor, Gerald Ford, issued him a pardon for any crimes he may have committed as president. What was the “Saturday Night Massacre“? More… Discuss

Formula for Happiness

Formula for Happiness

Scientists have developed an equation for happiness. It takes into account expectations, rewards, and past outcomes in order to predict momentary delight. The researchers formulated their equation in an experiment with just 26 participants, but they then confirmed their findings with a smartphone game played by more than 18,000. Overall, they found that people were happiest when they performed better than expected on a risk-reward task. More… Discuss

Acupuncture is a technique used in traditional Chinese medicine.
