(“Ain’t” is a colloquial contraction of “is not.”) The phrase refers to the stereotypically overweight female sopranos of the opera, particularly the Valkyrie Brünnhilde, whose aria concludes Richard Wagner’s opera cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen.
