[dt.] Tá metéora monastíra – die Klöster in der Luft. Die ersten Mönche siedelten sich im 10.Jh an. Im 16.Jh gab es noch 24 wohlhabende Klöster. Heute sind nur noch sechs Klöster bewohnt, zwei mit Nonnen und vier mit Mönchen.
Das Kloster Agia Triada auf einem 565 m hohen Felsen diente als Kulisse für den James Bond Film „In tödlicher Mission”
Die Metéora-Klöster befinden sich in der Nähe von Kalambaka in Thessalien, Griechenland. Seit 1988 sind sie UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe.
[en.] Tá metéora monastíra – the monasteries suspended in the air. The first settlement by monks took place in the 10th century. In the 16th century there were still 24 prosperous monasteries. Today, only six monasteries are inhabited, two with nuns and four with monks.
The monastery of Holy Trinity on top of a 565m cliff became famous filming location for the James Bond movie “For Your Eyes Only”
The monasteries are located near Kalambaka in central Greece. Since 1988 Metéora is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List
