When it comes to losing weight, there are few shortcuts around eating right and getting regular exercise, but the marketplace is still saturated with quick-fix weight-loss products purporting to magically melt away the pounds. In the US, consumers have spent millions of dollars on caffeine-infused bras, girdles, leggings, and other articles of clothing that manufacturers claimed would break down fat, resulting in weight loss and reduced cellulite. However, there is no scientific evidence to back up these claims, and companies selling these products, under fire from US regulators, have agreed to refund customers who fell for the deceptive advertising.
