Why all the struggle? poetic thought by George-B (©Always) (the smudge and other poems)

Why all the struggle? poetic thought by George-B (©Always)

Do we really want change,
do we really need it:
when brought about by…
The king of darkness?
Can’t we do with things the way they are,
slowly dissolving into the ocean of time?
Just evolving into involution,
return to the wisdom of the cave dwellers,
Before fire was noticed by the clan chief?
Isn’t that satisfying enough?
Why all the struggle?

The Immortals, poetic thought by George-B (©Always)

The Immortals, poetic thought by George-B (©Always)

The immortals are fighting gloves off,
The mortals are scared to death
Immortals buy,
Mortal rent,
immortals are cared for
Mortals have less…
Immortals couldn’t care less: hahahaha (can you hear them laugh?)

make music part of your life series: The Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 9

The Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 9

The Seventh Symphony is in four movements:

Poco sostenutoVivace
Presto – Assai meno presto (trio)

Allegro con brio

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Portrait of Beethoven in 1815, by Joseph Willibrord Mähler, two years after the premiere of his 7th Symphony

The Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92, is a symphony in four movements composed by Ludwig van Beethoven between 1811 and 1812, while improving his health in the Bohemian spa town of Teplice. The work is dedicated to Count Moritz von Fries.

At its première, Beethoven was noted as remarking that it was one of his best works. The second movement, Allegretto, was the most popular movement and had to be encored. The instant popularity of the Allegretto resulted in its frequent performance separate from the complete symphony.[1]

The Wallflowers – The empire in my mind (theme song to The Guardian)

“Empire Of My Mind”   (The Wallflowers)

Well, there is trouble in my mind
There is dark
There’s dark, and there is light.
I lay our hands over my eyes
As I look deep
Through valleys deep and wide
Across the border line
For the Empire in My Mind

You are the reason I don’t sleep
You are the light
That’s breaking through the leaves
You know how hard I try
To believe
I have something good inside
Over barricades I climb
For the Empire in My Mind.

I have no love somewhere in time
I’ve been lifted up
I’ve looked honor in the eyes
I have no reason; I have no rhyme
I cannot deny
There’s a darkness that’s inside
I am guilty by design
And now I realize
The temptation’s made me blind
To the Empire in My Mind

There is no order
There is chaos
And there is crime
There is no one home tonight
In the Empire in My Mind

There is no distance that I don’t see
I do have a will
No limit to my reach
I wish I would; I wish I might
See a line tonight
Separating wrong from right
Some are only born to try
And maybe that’s the reason why
I am afraid someday I’ll find
There is no Empire in My Mind

There is trouble in my life
There is trouble in my life

(performed by Jakob Dylan of The Wallflowers)

Sarah McLachlan – Dirty Little Secret

Sarah McLachlan – Dirty Little Secret

If I had the chance, love
I would not hesitate
To tell you all the things I never said before
Don’t tell me it’s too late

Cause I’ve relied on my illusions
To keep me warm at night
But I denied in my capacity to love
I am willing, to give up this fight

I’ve been up all night drinking
To drown my sorrow down
Nothing seems to help me since you went away
I’m so tired of this town
Where every tongue is wagging
When every back is turned
Their telling secrets that should never be revealed
There’s nothing to be gained from this
But disaster..
Here’s a good one..
Did you hear about my friend
He’s embarrassed to be seen now
because we all know his sins

If I had the chance love
You know, I would not hesitate
To tell you all the things I never said before
Don’t tell me it’s too late

Cause I’ve relied on my illusions
To keep me warm at night
But I denied in my capacity to love
I am willing, to give up this fight
Oh, I am willing to give up this fight…

Gaming Can Increase Social Behavior

Video games have gotten a bad rap, perhaps unfairly. Critics have blamed them for desensitizing players toviolence and for making gamers more prone to violent behavior; however, recent research suggests that role-playing games have the power to influence behavior for the better as well. College students who played five minutes of a game in which their avatar fought enemies exhibited more generous, “prosocial” behavior afterward if the avatar selected for them was a hero rather than a villain or a neutral shape. More… Discuss

To this day, the true identity of the well-dressed man calling himself Dan Cooper—reported in the press as D. B. Cooper—who hijacked a passenger jet and then parachuted from the airborne Boeing 727 with a $200,000 ransom, remains a mystery. Despite numerous leads and a great deal of media attention, the mystery man’s true identity and whereabouts continue to elude investigators, and the bulk of the money has never been recovered. Rock-Paper-Scissors Robot Wins Hands Down

Whether you call it rock-paper-scissors, roshambo, ick-ack-ock, or any other name, one thing is certain: you will never win against Janken. For humans, the game is all about predicting what one’s opponent is going to do, but Janken does not just predict, it knows. Developed by Japanese scientists, Janken is a high-speed, intelligent robot that is able to analyze in just one millisecond what shape—rock, paper, or scissor—a human hand is making and then immediately choose a winning countermove, which it performs so quickly that it finishes at the same time as its human opponent. More… Discuss

All we hope for, (poetic thought by George-B)

All we hope for, (poetic thought by George-B)

GOD’ biggest gift to us is Hope:
to keep our  unreasonable dreams bathing in light…
to bridge over the hopeless depths of all sorts of crevices,
and cracks,
some more material than others…
Hope that there is life identical to ours-somewhere else
and that we’ll find and reach that place and then
that we will drain its entirety, its life, as we are doing, for whole history,  to ours…

But, above all, the hope that it will be all forgiven and forgotten,
that HE will be back for us, to read to us
bed time stories and sing us to sleep by hermetic lullabies, because:
We are HIS children, and all we hope for is in the hopes.

Sting: The Shape of My Heart

The Shape of My Heart

He deals the cards as a meditation

And those he plays never suspect
He doesn’t play for the money he wins
He doesn’t play for the respect
He deals the cards to find the answer
The sacred geometry of chance
The hidden law of probable outcome
The numbers lead a dance

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that’s not the shape of my heart

He may play the jack of diamonds
He may lay the queen of spades
He may conceal a king in his hand
While the memory of it fades

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that’s not the shape of my heart
That’s not the shape, the shape of my heart

And if I told you that I loved you
You’d maybe think there’s something wrong
I’m not a man of too many faces
The mask I wear is one
Those who speak know nothing
And find out to their cost
Like those who curse their luck in too many places
And those who fear are lost

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that’s not the shape of my heart
That’s not the shape of my heart
