Birds of San Gabriel River: Black Neck Pelican (quite rare)

usually you don’t see these birds too often, they may be included on a rare or endangered list of birds from California (I doubt they realize that). Its just a pelican, I guess, with gorgeous panache.

As for me: 42 miles on my bike (11.8 miles/hour)

Itinerary: Liberty Park – San Gabriel river trail – Pacific Coast Hwy (Seal Beach) – Bolsa Chica- Huntington Beach- Santa Ana river trail – back.
It was a great day to bike, low temperature range, sunny, and lots of folks, especially around Huntington Beach Pier, due to the cystic Fibrosis Walk. (huge event)!
