When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion approached him and appealed to him,
saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, suffering dreadfully.”
He said to him, “I will come and cure him.”
The centurion said in reply, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof; only say the word and my servant will be healed.
For I too am a person subject to authority, with soldiers subject to me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come here,’ and he comes; and to my slave, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Amen, I say to you, in no one in Israel have I found such faith.
I say to you, many will come from the east and the west, and will recline with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the banquet in the kingdom of heaven.”
but the children of the kingdom will be driven out into the outer darkness, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.”
And Jesus said to the centurion, “You may go; as you have believed, let it be done for you.” And at that very hour (his) servant was healed.
Jesus entered the house of Peter, and saw his mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever.
He touched her hand, the fever left her, and she rose and waited on him.
When it was evening, they brought him many who were possessed by demons, and he drove out the spirits by a word and cured all the sick,
to fulfill what had been said by Isaiah the prophet: “He took away our infirmities and bore our diseases.”

Lupta anticorupţie şi asigurarea unei justiţii independente şi profesioniste sunt de o importanţă capitală iar pentru România este crucial să îşi intensifice eforturile şi să evite regresul, transmite Comisia Europeană, în condiţiile în care în Parlament se “trudeşte” din greu la modificarea Codurilor Penale.

În linie cu cele 12 state aliate României care şi-au exprimat preocuparea faţă de modificările Codurilor Penale, Comisia Europeană transmite şi ea că urmăreşte îndeaproape şi cu îngrijorare evenimentele din România.

”Comisia Europeană urmăreşte îndeaproape şi cu îngrijorare evenimentele din România”, a transmis pentru G4Media.ro un purtător de cuvânt al Executivului european, după întâlnirea dintre Frans Timmermans, prim-vicepreşedintele Comisiei Europene, şi Călin Popescu Tăriceanu.

”Noi, ca şi alţi parteneri internaţionali şi state membre, am subliniat în mod repetat că lupta anticorupţie şi asigurarea unei justiţii independente şi profesioniste sunt de o importanţă capitală. Aceasta este nucleul rapoartelor MCV. Acum e crucial pentru România să îşi intensifice eforturile şi să evite regresul. În acest context urmărim îndeaproape schimbările codurilor penale şi ale legilor justiţiei pentru a vedea compatibilitatea cu legislaţia relevantă a UE”, se arată în poziţia Executivului European.

Referitor la întâlnirea dintre cei doi oficiali, Comisia a precizat că Timmermans i-a transmis preşedintelui Senatului României că ţintele iniţiale din MCV nu s-au schimbat în timpul jocului şi nici nu au fost atinse, aşa cum a afirmat Tăriceanu în comunicatul său făcut public ulterior întâlnirii. De remarcat că Tăriceanu nu a menţionat nimic în comunicatul său despre îngrijorările Comisiei pe tema schimbărilor legislative, arată sursa citată.

Precizările Bruxelles-ului vin în contextul în care, pe fundalul modificării Codurilor Penale în Parlament, 12 state aliate au transmis un apel către autorităţile române ”să evite schimbările care ar slăbi statul de drept sau capacitatea României de a lupta împotriva infracţionalităţii şi corupţiei”.

Tot joi, ministrul francez de Externe, Jean-Yves Le Drian, a criticat atacurile coaliţiei PSD-ALDE la justiţie şi a pus România alături de Ungaria şi Polonia în rândul “proiectelor iliberale care pun sub semnul întrebării valorile fundamentale ale UE”.

Astăzi, Marea Britanie a transmis şi ea, într-un răspuns la o solicitare adresată de G4Media.ro, un mesaj de încurajare a luptei anticorupţie dusă de DNA şi de consolidare a statului de drept din România. Totodată, Ambasada Regatului Unit îşi exprimă speranţa că orice modificări aduse sistemului de justiţie au rolul de a sprijini şi dezvolta progresul important realizat de România în ultimii ani în lupta împotriva corupţiei şi pentru consolidarea statului de drept, prin realizările unor instituţii precum DNA.

Police warn about fentanyl-laced flyers after deputy hospitalized for touching paper

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office issued a warning on Tuesday after a flyer laced with the opioid fentanyl put one of its deputies in the hospital.

The deputy in question exited a sheriff’s office facility in Houston, Texas, and found a flyer on her windshield, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a press briefing.

She removed the paper and began to drive away before starting to feel lightheaded. The employee was taken to the hospital following the incident and is reportedly alert and in stable condition.

The department launched a follow-up investigation and examined between 15 and 20 of the same flyers placed on nearby vehicles. It found that at least one of the papers tested positive for fentanyl, a powerful opioid 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine.

According to CNN, a dose as small as a 0.25 milligrams can kill a person.

Gonzalez said that his deputies are on high alert as it remains unclear if the flyers were intended specifically to target law enforcement or if they were placed near the police department randomly.

A photo of the flyers shared on Twitter reveals that they contained anti-government and police messages.

“Fentanyl can be very toxic,” said Gonzalez. “Even small amounts embedded in a flyer, in a paper, is something that could cause symptoms and many times, had this sergeant not acted quickly and gotten help, many times, it can end up deadly.”
