In the 1920s, Borges was afflicted by a worsening hereditary blindness and was totally blind by the mid-1950s. Forced to abandon the writing of long texts, he began dictating his works. Robert Louis Balfour Stevenson (13 November 1850 – 3 December 1894) was a Scottish novelist, poet, essayist, and travel writer. His most famous works are Treasure IslandKidnapped, and Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

(22 February 1788 – 21 September 1860) was a German philosopher known for his pessimism and philosophical clarity.
