Almost two weeks after the mysterious spill in the Rockhouse Creek near Tomahawk, Kentucky… chemical residue remains along the banks… if Kentucky regulators didn’t have something to hide… why wouldn’t they just come out with information, facts, a simple announcement… instead of spurring rumors.

You’re not gonna believe this… the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection has denied open records request for all communications between or among members of the Energy and Environment Cabinet (including the Division of Water) regarding the April 11 discharge on Rockhouse Creek in Martin County … including copies of water sample results, etcetera.

All communications between the Energy and Environment Cabinet and companies conducting drilling, both vertical and horizontal, in the Martin, Johnson, and Lawrence County areas … including companies drilling in what is known as the Rogersville Shale, as well as other areas where [fracking] is done.

The denial is attached, and cites KRS 61.878 (1) (h) (i) and (j) as grounds for denial. This is a link to KRS 61.878 (1). http://www.lrc.ky.gov/Statutes/statute.aspx?id=41877
