“Bist du bei mir” (English: “If you are with me”) (BWV 508) is an aria from the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach. It was attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, but the melody is actually by Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel and Bach later harmonized it. I made this arrangement this morning, after having sketches of it in many different keys in my drawers for several years. At last I found a good key (G-Major) and finished it and felt like recording it immediately. 🙂
