Sunset captured from a GoPro HD HERO2 on an IKEA kitchen timer laying on the sand.
GoPro settings: 1 photo every 0.5 seconds
The end results was about 4,000 photos… (over 8 GBs)
Put them into a 24fps MOV
Brought into FCPX, did some color adjustments… the main time-lapse portion was then speed adjusted 200% (so I could have done 1 photo a second) … the last bit where someone picked up my camera was left at 100% speed, so you can see what true 1 photo every 1/2 second looks like when speed up to 24fps.

Google has reportedly launched an update to its Chromecast media streamer that signals the company’s intention to heavily police what users can do with the device. As it stands now, Chromecast users can no longer stream local content to their HDTVs from a third-party app, a move believed to be no accidental side effect from the recent firmware update.

If you are in the habit of snapping racy selfies with your smartphone, you may want to think twice about reselling it when you get a new one. Security firm Avast purchased 20 used Android devices on eBay and managed to recover the previous owners’ data from at least some of them, including emails, text messages, Google searches, and 40,000 photos—more than 1,000 of which featured the subject in various states of undress. Google responded to the report, saying that the phones in question are older models that do not reflect current Android protections, but security researchers caution that the only way to fully protect your data on any device is to destroy it entirely. Léo FERRE (2/10) : Vingt ans / La chambre / Le scaphandrier

Léo Ferré (24 August 1916 – 14 July 1993) was a Monegasque poet, composer and a dynamic and controversial live performer whose career in France dominated the years after the Second World Waruntil his death. He released some forty albums over this period, composing the music and the majority of the lyrics. He released many hit singles, particularly between 1960 and the mid-seventies. Some of his songs have become classics of the French chanson repertoire, such as Avec le temps, C’est extra or Jolie Môme.

Along with Georges Brassens, Jacques Brel and Serge Gainsbourg, he is considered one of the greatest French singer-songwriters of all times, but unlike Brel and Gainsbourg, or even Charles Aznavour, his songs are very little known in the English-speaking world. Ferré was an anarchist; he may be the greatest French protest singer ever.

Ferré’s lyrics were extremely incisive and tuned in to the issues of the day, but also astonishingly poetic. He mixed revolt with love and melancholy, sophisticated lyricism with slang and shouts, rhyming verse with prose monologues. He moved from music-hall to symphonic music, breaking free from the traditional song structure, inventing his own musical territory, powerfully dramatic and unique. He also popularized the French poètes maudits, such as François Villon, Charles Baudelaire, Paul Verlaine, and Arthur Rimbaud, as well as great French poets from the 20th century like Guillaume Apollinaire and Louis Aragon, by setting into music many of their poems.
